Wikis in plain English was simple, yet it totally got the point across. I really never understood the connection between wikipedia and wikis, now I know how wikipedia got its name. I also found the wikis really are a great way to communicate between friends. It really is easier than email in that situation, allowing groups to more easily communicate back and forth. It's really great to see that people take the time to help inform others on wikis, and other computer information.
The second video, Social Bookmarking was again, another beneficial video. It was great to see how you can communicate to other professionals and share valuable websites with them. I always find websites that I want to bookmark, but it's true, they get over populated with site, and are so unorganized! Not only will a delicious account help you organize your bookmarks, but you can see what your fellow colleagues are using and get ideas off of them.
The third video, RSS in plain English was the same way. I had no idea what an RSS feeder was. I had heard the term, but it was just some computer lingo that I didn't understand. Now I can say I know what they are and how to use them. It is great to be able to get the information you are looking for without having to search for it. I don't read blogs very often, but when I'm a teacher I'm sure I will read a lot of them, and having an RSS subscription to these websites will be great! I will always be able to be on top of things!
The last video, Web 2.0 went over digital text, another computer term I thought I was unfamiliar with. After watching this video, I learned that I had been using digital text all along with my former myspace page. I also didn't realize that it was what all websites use! Digital texting can even be used for videos and pictures. This video was so creative in showing everything using just the computer, and had valuable lessons within it too.
